Exciting events…….

Wow, where to start….. We have a lot of new, fun programs coming up soon for everyone to enjoy. Here’s a list of what events we have coming up…..

For starters we will be holding a Community Summer Reading Challenge for all ages. The challenge is: Read ten library books that match the criteria on our reading challenge list  between Memorial Day and Labor Day 2016.  Hardcopy books, e-books, and audiobooks all count.

Complete the challenge by Sept. 6 and you can enter your name in a drawing for a free book sponsorship – your name on the dedication plate of a new library book and you get to be the first to check it out of the library. Challenge forms are available at the library.

“Amazing Race”

We are excited to announce that the Wyalusing Public Library’s ever first “Amazing Race” will be held on Sunday June 12, starting at 1pm at the library.

Teams of up to 4 people, $25 for the first two team member…$5 each for each additional team member, will race around the town of Wyalusing stopping at various participating businesses and solve clues to the next location.

Please stop into the library by June 6 to sign up your team, payment is accepted at this time. Tell all of your friends and lets have some fun for a great cause.

Summer Reading

The schedule is now set and available for our summer programming. Once again we will be holding “boredom busters” for preschool through 1st grade on Monday mornings, teens in 5th & up on Monday nights and 2nd through 4th on Wednesday mornings along with Family programs on Thursday nights as well as Preschool Story Class on Friday mornings. The schedule is below, and printed copies are available to be picked up at the library.

Play K

Do you have, or know of a child, who will be entering Kindergarten this coming August? If so, this is for you……

we will be holding a 6 week interactive program for kids entering Kindergarten ONLY on Saturday mornings, between July 9th and August 13th.

The Play K curriculum consists of materials and activities for six different playscapes, or “play and learn centers”. Each playscape is designed around an early childhood theme, or topic, to explore. A big idea, together with one or more essential questions, provide focus for the learning experiences.

Playscapes¬† we will be using include: All Aboard!, A Home for Me and A Home for You, Let’s Go Shopping, All Around Town, Amazing Animals: Pets, My Colorful World.
