As always, there is a lot going on here at the library, and a lot of stuff coming up soon. Here’s a look at what we have going on in the next couple of weeks…….
Due to circumstances beyond our control, we have decided to postpone our Amazing Race through Wyalusing. We will be holding this fun challenge at a later date, so keep posted….
Anyone who would like inside space to set up for the Village Value Days yard sale on Saturday, June 18th, we have spaces available down in the basement. $10 per table donation to the library required and you will be able to come in Wednesday through Friday to set up your items. You must be here to man your own table and will be required to take everything that did not sell back home with you at the end of the day. School is out!!! Now what are you going to do with all that free time and the kids saying “I’m bored…..”
Well, to help you out with that, the library is offering many cool programs for 6 weeks, beginning June 20. Look on our web site (wyalusinglibrary.org) or stop in for a schedule.
Also, don’t forget that we are holding a Community Summer Reading Challenge for all ages. The challenge is: Read ten library books that match the criteria on our reading challenge list between Memorial Day and Labor Day 2016. Hardcopy books, e-books, and audiobooks all count.
Complete the challenge by Sept. 6 and you can enter your name in a drawing for a free book sponsorship – your name on the dedication plate of a new library book and you get to be the first to check it out of the library. Challenge forms are available at the library.
Do you have, or know of a child, who will be entering Kindergarten this coming August? If so, this is for you……

The Play K curriculum consists of materials and activities for six different playscapes, or “play and learn centers”. Each playscape is designed around an early childhood theme, or topic, to explore. A big idea, together with one or more essential questions, provide focus for the learning experiences.
Playscapes we will be using include: All Aboard!, A Home for Me and A Home for You, Let’s Go Shopping, All Around Town, Amazing Animals: Pets, My Colorful World.
