Do I need a library card to check out items?

Yes. Your first card is free, should you need a replacement there is a $5 charge.

How do I renew my items?

There are several ways you can renew  your items.

1. Bring your library card in to the library and we can renew  your items.

2. Call the library at (570) 746-1711 during normal business hours, and provide us the last 5 digits of your library card number.

3. Renew your books yourself online. Simply click on the Online Catalog link and log into your account in the upper right hand of the screen, using your library card number and the telephone number on file, with no dashes or spaces.

How many books can I take out at one time?

There is a limit of 50 print materials allowed to be checked out on a single card at any given time.

How many DVDs can I take out at one time?

There is a limit of 5 DVDs to be checked out on a single card at any given time.

Are there fines for items not returned on time?

There is fine of $0.25 per day for books, magazines and audiobooks.

There is a fine of $1 per day for DVDs.

What happens if I don’t return the items on time?

You will be contacted by the library regarding your overdue items after they are one week past due and again after two weeks past due.

If the items are still not returned, you will be sent a certified letter at three weeks and if the items have still not been returned the account will be turned over to the magistrate.

Do I need to have a library card to use a computer?

No. We have a desk pass that we can use to check a computer out to you.

Do you charge if I print something?

Yes. Printed pages are $0.25 per page for black and white prints and $0.50 per page for color prints.

What other services do you offer?

We have a copier that is available to the public. Copies are $0.25 per page.

We also offer fax services. We charge $1 per page outgoing, and $0.25 for the confirmation page.

Incoming faxes are $0.25 per page.
