Supplies needed…….

Greetings all! It’s amazing how quickly this year has been moving and summer is going to be here before we know it. In preparation for our Summer fun here at the library, we are in need of some supplies, which will be used for some creations. We are looking for:

  • 2 liter clear and 2 liter green (Sprite, Ginger ale) bottles – rinsed and not crushed — Please NO milk containers

  • 1/2 gallon cardboard juice containers – clean and whole (not crushed or broken down)

  • bright colorful adversiting graphics – cereal boxes, outer candy wrappers, fruit snack boxes, soup can labels, raisin boxes, juice container labels, cookie wrappers (ie: Chips Ahoy or Oreo – think bright colors), etc…… If you bring in the whole box, it may be broken down, for easier storage.

Please do not leave the items outside, we would appreciate if you could bring the items inside for us.

A GIANT “Thank you” to Arrow United for their cardboard donation to us for our Summer fun!!!

It’s that time of year…..

It’s December 12th and with 13 days until Christmas, many are caught up in all the hustle and bustle trying to get their shopping done, cookies baked and travel plans nailed down.

We aren’t exempt from the Christmas craziness here at the library, only ours is a little different, and this year Cathy decided to head out on vacation and leave the rest of us girls to handle it all – so glad she trusts us, lol.

To let all of our patrons know what’s coming up here at the library, and when it will likely be anything but quiet in here, we’ve put together a list of our upcoming events, as well as our Holiday hours for you:

Friday, Dec. 16th: Preschool Story Class will be wrapping up with their final class of the year, the Christmas Party, which will run from 10 until 11:30 or so. They will also be joined by a very special guest, whom so many of them are very anxious to see so they can make sure he gets their Christmas wish lists.

Friday, Dec. 16th: We will be drawing the winner of the Christmas raffles, for the American Girl Doll and the Kindle Fire in the afternoon. The winner will be called that day.

Monday, Dec. 19th: The 3 preschool classes from the Wyalusing Valley Children’s Center, 60 preschoolers, will be visiting the library in 3 batches between 9 and 10:30. While our special visitor is not able to come see them, he will be leaving some goodies here for them. While they are here, they also will get to enjoy a story and make their very own ornament to take home with them and hang on their Christmas tree.

Wednesday, Dec. 21st:  the students from the Life Skills and Autistic Support classes at the Elementary School will be here from approximately 9 until 10:15 or so. These students will also be joined by a very special guest, who will be able to hear their Christmas wish lists and hand out a little treat for them. In addition, the kids will enjoy a story and be making a craft.

Holiday hours: We will be CLOSED Saturday, Dec. 24th and Monday, Dec. 26th for Christmas. We will also be CLOSED Saturday, Dec. 31st for New Years, but we will be open Monday, Jan. 2nd as normal.

For those we may not see beforehand, we would like to take this time to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe, healthy and Happy New Year!!!!
